ACM publishes several booklets and handouts to help high school students and their parents as they explore college options, including:
- The Pre-College Planner, information for students about the college selection process;
- Guia para padres (the Pre-College Planner for Parents in Spanish);
- College Guides on a variety of topics: Going to a college fair, Campus visits, Writing a college application essay, and Questions to ask colleges about financial aid.

- The Pre-College Planner provides a concise overview -- from self-assessment through application -- of how students can find colleges to match their goals. Available in PDF only.
- Guia para padres (the Pre-College Planner for Parents in Spanish) takes parents through the college search, step by step. This FREE booklet is available in quantity.
- The two-page College Guides are available to download and distribute. They cover topics such as going to a college fair, visiting a campus, writing a college application essay, and asking colleges about financial aid.
- Two additional College Guide handouts give advice for counselors and teachers on writing recommendations for students applying to college.
