Allen Linton II

Allen (he/him) was named Senior Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in July 2022. He began at ACM in 2019 as Director of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives. Allen manages the Faculty and Undergraduate Fellows Program for a Diverse Professoriate: Mellon Faculty Fellows, Graduate School Exploration Program (GRADx), Graduate School Exploration Fellowship (GSEF), Emerging Scholars Program, and annual Retention and Success Workshop. Additionally, he leads the ACM anti-racism initiatives to address the institutional and structural forms of racism that have contributed to the differential experiences and outcomes for students, faculty, and staff.

Beyond ACM, Allen is a PhD candidate at University of Chicago specializing in American politics with a concentration on youth politics, new/social media, and local political participation. Previously, he was a member of the MacArthur Research Network on Youth & Participatory Politics coordinating the Black Youth Project Digital Research Chicago Team for the Educating for Participatory Politics project. Allen completed both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in political science at the University of Chicago. Allen was also an inaugural member of the Chicago Hub for the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers program from 2013 – 2021.
