ACM college faculty participating in the Sustainability on the Margins seminar in Jordan visited the Azraq Wetland Reserve. In recent decades, water has been pumped out of the Azraq wetlands to supply the city of Amman, with resulting ecological changes.
The seminar is sponsored by the Seminars in Advanced Interdisciplinary Learning (SAIL) program. For ten days, the group of 15 faculty from five ACM colleges is engaging in field trips, presentations, and discussions focused on sustainability in the context of water resources, cultural heritage, and refugees.
The faculty will use their experience in Jordan as a foundation to create new interdisciplinary course materials for juniors and seniors on their campuses.
