Information and reservations

Experienced admission officers from the ACM colleges will serve as faculty for the Institute. In one of the main sessions, they will lead participants through an application review exercise, providing an overview of the individualized approach used at selective liberal arts colleges to evaluate applications and make admission decisions.

Participants also will choose among sessions on topics such as advising students on completing their college applications and essays, writing recommendations for students, financial aid, and the academic and experiential opportunities for students at liberal arts colleges.

There is no charge for counselors to attend the ACM Summer Institute, but advance reservations are required and space is limited. Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) for the state of Illinois will be available for participants. Counselors can find a complete schedule and make a reservation to attend at www.acm.edu/SummerInstitute.

The Summer Institute will be held at the ACM Chicago Programs offices, located in downtown Chicago at 177 N. State Street and convenient to public transportation.

The Deans and Directors of Admission at ACM colleges have a long history of collaborating to host informational events for high school counselors and students and to provide resource materials to help high school students and their families navigate the college search process.
