In the coming months, ACM faculty will travel around the country to give presentations at national conferences highlighting the collaborative work they have accomplished through ACM’s Faculty Career Enhancement (FaCE) Project.
FaCE Presentation Grants |
Deadlines for Proposals: June 1, August 1, October 1 |
Now, additional faculty who have received FaCE grants during the past three years will have an incentive to discuss their projects at professional conferences and workshops, because the ACM will award three more rounds of presentation grants.
The deadlines to apply for these special grants are June 1, August 1, and October 1, 2011. The grants support registration, travel, lodging, and meals directly related to presenting at a conference.
“Dissemination has been a continuous priority of the FaCE project, in large part because we want the innovative, collaborative work of ACM faculty to have impact beyond the consortium,” noted ACM Vice President John Ottenhoff. “Providing funding for previous grant recipients to present at professional conferences is an effective way to spread the word about this work to the broader higher education sector.”
Throughout Phase II of FaCE, both ACM and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, which generously supports FaCE, have been interested in assuring that the collaborations formed and insights developed through FaCE projects do not remain confined to a few faculty, departments, or campuses.
The presentation grants have proven a simple and efficient way to maximize the impact of FaCE projects. ACM also has partnered with the Science Education Resource Center (SERC) at Carleton College to disseminate the results of projects on the ACM-FaCE website hosted by SERC.
Since December 2010, ACM has awarded the following six FaCE presentation grants totaling $17,228.
