Macalester College student Andrew Flynn (at right in the photo) writes about his experience on the spring 2011 ACM Costa Rica: Field Research in the Environment, Social Sciences, & the Humanities program, where he volunteered on a paramedic ambulance for the Red Cross and conducted an independent research project on the topic “Emergency Response to Traffic Accidents in Rural Costa Rica.”
