After packing – and then unpacking – more than 300 moving crates and boxes, staff are settling into the new combined space at 11 E. Adams Street that brings the ACM consortial office, Chicago Program, and Urban Education Program together under the same roof for the first time.

The move was a short one, and at its new location at the corner of Adams and State Streets, ACM remains in the heart of Chicago’s downtown “Loop.” The location keeps students at the hub of the public transportation system, giving access to neighborhoods and schools throughout the city.

The Chicago Program draws on a wide variety of nearby government offices, social service agencies, arts and cultural organizations, and businesses ranging from tech start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, as staff line up guest speakers and field visits and arrange internship placements for students.

The move will save the ACM a substantial amount in annual rent, even as it improves the meeting spaces and eliminates noise and visual distractions caused by the “El” trains that rumbled past the windows every few minutes at the former location of the consortial office.

To comfortably accommodate ACM meetings and the two programs’ classes and seminars, the space includes meeting rooms of various sizes, which are being outfitted with audiovisual equipment and capabilities for teleconferencing.

The full address of the new combined space is 11 E. Adams Street, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60603-6324. Telephone numbers remain the same for the ACM consortial office (312.263.5000) and the Chicago Program (312.915.0919). The Urban Education Program can now be contacted through the consortial office at 312.263.5000.
