Dos Mundos - Two WorldsFans’ Choice Award winner in the 2012-13 ACM Photo Contest: “Dos Mundos – Two Worlds” by Emma Crumley, St. Olaf College.

The top three vote-getters will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places in the Fans’ Choice Awards, and the student who took the 1st Place photo will win a $50 gift card. The deadline for casting votes is 11:59 pm on December 15.

Students at ACM colleges who have studied on programs around the world submitted photos for the contest through their colleges’ off-campus study offices. The photos range from breathtaking scenery to elaborate festivals to moments in everyday life, and were taken in locations dotting the globe – from Costa Rica to Thailand, from Norway to Burundi.

A panel of judges will select the winning photos for the contest, including a Grand Prize photo and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photos in each of these three categories: People, Places, and Cross-Cultural Encounters. Honorable Mention photos may also be selected.

The Facebook Fans’ Choice Award photos will join all of the other winning photos in a digital traveling exhibit to ACM campuses in winter and spring 2014.

This is the third year for the Fans’ Choice Awards. The photo contest was begun in 2008-09 as part of ACM’s 50th anniversary celebration, and proved to be so popular that it has become a yearly tradition. The contest is a reminder of the ACM member colleges’ commitment to off-campus study and five decades of collaboration in offering international and domestic programs for students.
