Are you a recent graduate of an ACM college, with a background in Spanish or English as a Second Language (ESL), who would like to travel internationally and teach English?
If so, you have an opportunity to apply for a one-year teaching position in Costa Rica during 2016 due to the longstanding relationship between the ACM Costa Rica programs and the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in San José, the country’s capital city.
The position, offered by the English Department in the UCR School of Modern Languages, involves teaching classes in basic and intermediate English for the UCR academic year, from mid-January through mid-December 2016, with a two-week break between semesters in July. The position includes teaching an additional course in conversational English for extra income.
The UCR teaching position announcement includes details about salary, living costs in Costa Rica, and application procedures. The deadline to apply is October 25, 2015.
The ACM has offered undergraduate off-campus study programs in Costa Rica since 1964 and over the years has developed close ties with the UCR School of Modern Languages. As a result, this annual English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching position at UCR is only available to graduates of ACM institutions. The ACM programs, based in San José, are:
- Costa Rica: Community Engagement in Public Health, Education, & the Environment; and
- Costa Rica: Field Research in the Environment, Social Sciences, & Humanities.
