What better way is there to learn the customs, culture, and rhythms of everyday life in another country than by living with a host family?
More Costa Rica program videos! Academics and Student Life in San José
All students on the two ACM study away programs in Costa Rica live in homestays, and most experience living with families in both the capital city of San José and in a rural part of the country.
Host families provide meals — and the chance for conversation in Spanish around the dinner table every evening — and frequently invite students to join them in family gatherings and community events.
