Carrie Stallings

Grinnell College, sociology

GSEF Fellow, Cohort 2

“I’m from Jackson, Mississippi and spend a lot of time cooking food that tastes like home.”

How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?

I’m a sociology and biochemistry major at Grinnell College who likes video games, organic chemistry, and making new friends! I’m from Jackson, Mississippi and spend a lot of time cooking food that tastes like home.

If you had to teach someone one thing, what would you teach them?

How to pick ripe produce. All of my friends say I have an uncanny ability to do so, likely because half of my diet is fruit.

What’s the best advice someone has given to you?

You can’t regret the past if you don’t regret the present.

What will your legacy be?

I hope to be remembered as being a great friend.
