2017 – 4th Annual ACM Volleyball Tournament
September 8-9, 2017
Colorado College, Colorado Springs, CO
Nationally-ranked Colorado College swept nine sets en route to winning all three of their matches in the 2017 ACM Volleyball Tournament. Coe College came in second with a 2-1 record during the two days of round-robin competition, followed by Lake Forest College and Carleton College.
The ACM event was a rare opportunity for these consortial match-ups, since the four colleges compete in different athletic conferences.
Activities for Student-Athletes
In addition to the competition on court, the 70 student-athletes and their coaches also gathered for a tournament dinner and to visit local sites in Colorado Springs.
Group meals and activities have been a highlight of ACM athletic competitions, strengthening consortial ties and reflecting the colleges’ history of athletic competition and collaboration.
The tournament dinner included a keynote address by USA Volleyball’s John Kessel, Director of Sport Development & Disabled Programs.
Activities featured a field trip to the see the dramatic sandstone rock formations of the Garden of the Gods Park, a registered National Natural Landmark. The tour was organized and led by Colorado College students and staff.
