During the past year, my first as ACM’s president, I have had the opportunity to meet many faculty, students, and staff on their home campuses and at consortial meetings. I am inspired by the passion for residential liberal arts education and the commitment to collaboration across the consortium.
We are in a period of strategic planning and exploring new ways to enrich residential liberal arts education together and build momentum for the future. We are reimagining our existing programming while cultivating innovative partnerships and developing new initiatives for faculty, students, and staff.
The ACM’s robust history provides inspiration for our future direction. We are encouraged by the vision that Beloit College President Miller Upton outlined for our organization 60 years ago: To build community around initiatives that benefit from collaboration and collective impact, to encourage experimentation and innovation, to serve as a creative stimulus, and to assess the educational landscape and respond to external challenges.
I look forward to our continued collaboration and success.
