“During the independent research segment of the semester, our advisors came to visit us, check in on our research, and give us a taste of the area surrounding our rural homestays. My advisor and his daughter, both doctors from San José, took us to explore the area around Arenal, a volcano in northern Costa Rica. They drove us all around Lake Arenal, which sits at the base of the volcano, and during the drive we were able to see countless beautiful views of the volcano, including this one.”
