Are you a recent graduate of an ACM college who would like to travel internationally and teach English? If so, you have an opportunity to teach in Costa Rica as a result of the longstanding relationship between the ACM Costa Rica programs and the University of Costa Rica (UCR).
UCR, located in the capital city of San José, has a year-long position available teaching basic and intermediate English, English composition, and English reading courses during the University’s 2010 academic year (March 8 – December 17, 2010, with a two-week break between semesters). Applicants are required to have a Spanish language major or English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching experience.
This is a paid, full-time staff position, with a very high level of teaching responsibility. The University can assist in arranging housing and with other logistics, but it is expected that the person chosen to fill this position will be sufficiently resourceful, independent, and mature to deal with the culture and job obligations effectively on his or her own.
Due to the close association for many years between the School of Modern Languages at the University of Costa Rica and the ACM Costa Rica programs (Latin American Culture & Society in the fall and Field Research in the spring), the UCR English Department is making this opportunity available exclusively to graduates of ACM institutions.
