The Associated Colleges of the Midwest is pleased to announce the promotions of Brian Williams to Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Allen Linton II to Senior Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Williams’ new title reflects his contributions to ACM’s recent strategic planning process and the role he will play in leading the implementation of the strategic plan, including the development of strategic partnerships. He also will continue to lead faculty development and grant initiatives.

In his expanded role, Linton will work to secure external partnerships to continue the consortium’s shared equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism goals. Additionally, he will increase his work with individual campuses to support their diversity-related initiatives where possible.

“I am thrilled to congratulate Brian and Allen on their new roles and excited to watch them continue to build partnerships that will strengthen ACM and support the success of our strategic plan,” said Sonya Malunda, President of ACM. “Brian’s commitment to and experience in advancing higher education, and particularly liberal arts colleges, make him an excellent partner to me, the presidents, and the entire consortium in leading the implementation of our new strategic plan. And with his collaborative leadership and subject-matter expertise, Allen has been crucial in establishing and advancing the consortium’s anti-racism initiative, and I know he will continue to help us meet the moment and foster inclusive and equitable environments for our community.”

I am thrilled to congratulate Brian and Allen on their new roles and excited to watch them continue to build partnerships that will strengthen ACM and support the success of our strategic plan.”

Linton joined ACM as Director of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives in 2019 and manages the Faculty and Undergraduate Fellows Program for a Diverse Professoriate. Additionally, he developed and leads the ACM anti-racism initiative.
